Hi there! We have lots of fabulous projects to share with you today using the Mason Jar Frame Stamp!
The first project by Belinda Spencer shows how to create a watercolour effect using Dylusions Ink Sprays.
Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock to size.
2. Apply the fern leaf stamp from the Leaves Rubber Stamp Set using Leaf Green Ranger Archival Ink.
3. Spray a little Polished Jade Dylusions Ink Spray into a dish and add some water.
4. Using a soft, wet paintbrush, wash the colour over the cardstock piece. Allow to dry.
5. Apply the Mason Jar stamp onto smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink. Stamp the Butterfly Garden Collage Stamp over the top using the same ink. Cut out the mason jar.
6. Use various Dylusions Ink Sprays like watercolours to paint the inside of the mason jar.
7. Stamp the mason jar lid again onto smooth white cardstock using Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Ink. Heat set with Silver Ranger Embossing Powder Super Fine Detail. Cut out and add to the top of the mason jar.
8. Tie some string around the neck of the jar and stick the whole piece down on the colour washed background piece using 3D foam.
9. Stamp two tags from the Tag Rubber Stamp Set onto kraft cardstock using Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink. Add a sentiment using the Alphabet Medley Rubber Stamp Set. Add to the card front using 3D foam.
10. Stamp another butterfly from the Butterfly Rubber Stamp Set and colour with ink sprays as before. Once dry, cut out and add to the card front.
11. Attach the card front to the base.
Connie Mercer has combined the Mason Jar Frame Stamp with stamps from the Seaside Collection to create a sea themed card:
Stamp Mason Jar on pattern paper of your choice. Cut out and ink edges for shading using Ranger Distress Ink. Stamp out Seashells using ink colors of your choice. Cut them out and shade edges. Stamp a few of the Seashell images inside the Mason Jar. Stamp the Carved Leaves and cut them out.Take a small piece of cheese cloth and wet it with a water spray bottle. Use Distress Ink to shade the cheese cloth. Dry with heat gun. Arrange the elements around the Mason Jar. Adhere and add a little shimmer with a glitter pen. Add sentiment.
Anneke De Clerck has created some very delicious cards by combining the Mason Jar with Sweet Treats Vol 2 Rubber Stamps!
To create the background make rough brush strokes with pink and orange acrylic paint. Load parts of the Checkered Background Stamp with white paint and stamp randomly. Stamp the Mason Jar Frame Stamp with Archival Ink Jet Black on white paper. Stamp again on masking paper and cut out the centre. Stamp the licorice all sorts from Sweet Treats Vol 2 Rubber Stamp Set through this mask with black ink. Colour with pink and orange paint. Add shadow to the edges of the jar with Distress Ink Weathered Wood and a water brush. Use white paint to add highlights. Cut out and attach the jar to the card with foam tape. Decorate with white cord and some matching beads. Stamp text in right upper corner.
Paint the background with orange, fuchsia, pink, yellow and light blue paint as shown on the picture. Load parts of the Polka Dots background stamp with white paint and stamp dots randomly. Stamp the Mason Jar frame stamp with Archival Ink Jet Black on white paper. Only ink up the sweets on the stamp (I used tape to mask the rest of the image) and use the same mask as for the previous card to stamp through. Color the candy with paint. Add shadow and highlights to the jar with Distress Ink Weathered Wood, Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass and a water brush. Cut out and attach to the background with foam tape. Stamp text on a paper scrap, cut out and adhere to the jar. Decorate with blue cord and some beads.
Robyn Wood has created a trio of butterflies with the Mason Jar:
Assemble card base by adding a torn strip of light teal card stock to the left hand side of a craft coloured card front. Overlay with a darker teal piece approx. 7.5 x 13 cm. Stamp Mason Jar Frame onto white cardstock using Graphite Black Brilliance ink and heat emboss with clear powder. Sponge with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Use a grey ink or marker to colour bottle cap. Closely trim the bottle shape and tie some twine around the cap. Mount onto card front using foam tape. Stamp three butterflies from the Wings set using Jet Black Archival ink onto white cardstock. Do two largish ones and a small one for balance. Colour the butterflies using markers and trim closely. Stamp some words from the Wildflower set onto pale blue cardstock and trim closely. Assemble butterflies and words onto jar outline to check placement before permanently attaching with double sided tape or liquid glue. Apply adhesive to just the centre of the butterflies so that the wings can be bent forward slightly. Affix black rhinestones to the top left and bottom right corners of the dark teal cardstock.
Rachel Greig used the Buttons Background Stamp with the Mason Jar to create a jar full of buttons! I'm sure many of us have one of these in real life!
Stamp French Script Background Stamp onto pink card using Archival Magenta Hue ink pad. Adhere embossed white cardstock to left side of card. Run the card front through the sewing machine without thread to create a dotted border around the card. Stamp Mason Jar onto white cardstock with Archival Jet Black ink pad. Stamp Buttons Background Stamp over the Mason Jar image using various colours of Distress Markers. Colour in each button with Distress Markers. Wrap thin ribbon around top of jar and adhere to card using foam adhesive. Stamp Thank You from Thank You Stamp set onto white label using Jet Black ink pad, sponge around edges with Magenta Hue ink and attach to card.
