Hello, it is Anna-Karin here with you today, sharing an art journal page made with the new Stunning Camera Eclectic Stamp. I love photography and old cameras, and this vintage camera stamp is really wonderful, and works for so many different types of projects. It is great for both cardmaking, art journaling and scrapbooking.
I wanted more than one impression of the camera on my page and got the idea of stamping it four times, using the four inks in Tim Holtz Mixed Media Palette. The detail in this stamp is really amazing and as you can see, it looks great in a variety of shades, and doesn’t just have to be stamped in black. A blue, orange or pink camera would look awesome too. For my project, I worked in my Dina Wakley Media Journal, on a burlap page. The journal has watercolour, burlap, canvas and kraft pages. It’s a really fun journal.
Start by stamping the camera four times with the four colours in Tim Holtz Archival Ink Mixed Media Palette. I used Specialty Stamping Paper, since it picks up details really great, but you can also use other papers.
Cut the cameras out and ink the edges with Ground Espresso.
The Photography set works great together with the Camera Eclectic stamp. Stamp words and a sentiment on tags die cut from inked manila cardstock. I found the inked paper in my scrap box and think it was inked with Antique Linen and Pumice Stone. Ink the edges with Ground Espresso.
Stamp the Filmstrip Border stamp on acetate and cut out.
Staple the filmstrip to the burlap and layer the cameras on top. I glued the cameras with Matte Medium.
Glue the tree small tags to the upper edge of the page. If you want to you can add some string to them too.
One thing I really like with this camera stamp is that it has a fair amount of white space, which you can colour if you’d like to. I didn’t do that here, but you can easily add colour to this camera.
I sometimes like to use photos in my art journals, and here I picked a teenage one of myself, which I also thought worked good together with the sentiment.
I wanted another fabric element on the page and cut out a studio photo background from one of Tim Holtz’s Eclectic Elements fabrics.
I added Design Tape and Small Talk sticker to finish the page.
